Palani or Palni is a hill shrine located on a solitary hill near to Madurai, Tamil Nadu in the south of India. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Subramanya or Muruga, an aspect of Shiva. Reached by 660 steps, the shrine is a well-known pilgrimage centre and attracts devotees from all parts of the country.
