So lucky to have this rare one. Found it in a corner of a very old bookshop around kalighat :). Very well written n told in a tradition long forgotten. Great illustrations too

Very evident western influences as well as those from chinese painting styles. The woman in the sari seems almost incongruous.

The illustrations are by and large orientalist, and who knows if the tales are down just right, but this is very touching and clearly in each case a deepy felt effort!
